Il trio II+I è composto da Valerio Ambiveri, Marta Lodola e Bianca Terreni e nasce dall'intenzione di intrecciare ricerche personali a una visione condivisa sul senso profondo di umanità.

“Due più uno” sono le possibili combinazioni in cui gli artisti danno vita ad esperienze performative dove l’improvvisazione lascia spazio al sentire istantaneo come risorsa emotiva. La loro identità si plasma come una triade e una comunità, attraverso l'interazione triplice che richiede ascolto, accordo e condivisione.

The II+I trio, composed of Valerio Ambiveri, Marta Lodola, and Bianca Terreni, was formed from the intention to intertwine individual artistic research with a shared vision of the deeper meaning of humanity.

"Two plus one" are the possible combinations through which the artists create performative experiences in which improvisation gives way to immediate feeling as an emotional resource. Their identity takes shape as both a triad and a community, through a threefold interaction that requires listening, harmony, and sharing.

Lo straccio è una porzione, una rimanenza, un frammento di un tutto che nel dividersi trova nuova vita, nuovi utilizzi. Rappresenta dunque un punto di partenza, non una fine, ed è proprio in quest'ottica che il trio Lodola, Ambiveri, Terreni ha concepito una trilogia performativa in cui lo straccio diventa soggetto e strumento di trasformazione. Diventa il centro di una riflessione sull’attualità che coinvolge intenzione politica, cura sociale e ripensamento delle figure di potere.

The rag is a portion, a remainder, a fragment of a whole that, in being divided, finds new life and new uses. It therefore represents a starting point rather than an end, and it is precisely from this perspective that the trio Lodola, Ambiveri, Terreni conceived a performative trilogy in which the rag becomes both subject and instrument of transformation. It becomes the focal point of a reflection on the present, involving political intention, social care, and a rethinking of figures of power.

In Rag Flag il tessuto bianco che si fa straccio non è il simbolo della resa, ma una richiesta aperta di cessazione dei conflitti. E’ un rituale d’onore a chi si arrende per non uccidere, a chi sceglie di proteggere invece che attaccare, di unire anziché dividere.

In “Rag Flag”, the white fabric that becomes a rag is not a symbol of surrender, but an open call for the cessation of conflict. It is a ritual celebrating those who surrender in order not to kill, those who choose to protect rather than attack, to unite rather than divide.

Cosa significa prendersi cura? Cosa significa dedicarsi alla cura di se stessi e dell’altro? In un momento storico in cui l’individualismo e l’accidia governano il mondo, “Caring Rags” si propone di rispondere a questi semplici quesiti trasformandoli in azione e in immagine. L’incessante volontà di riportare il corpo alla sua forma candida e pura, un tentativo quasi fallimentare poiché quel nero resiste, non viene portato via da un singolo gesto, ma richiede impegno e lavorio costante. 

What does it mean to care? What does it mean to devote oneself to caring for oneself and for others? At a historical moment in which individualism and apathy govern the world, “Caring Rags” seeks to answer these simple questions by transforming them into action and image. The relentless attempt to restore the body to its candid and pure form becomes an almost doomed effort, as the blackness resists: it cannot be removed by a single gesture, but instead demands commitment and constant labor.

Il processo che porta a deturpare una tovaglia immacolata è il centro di questa video-performance: lo straccio è il residuo. Il punto di partenza è la purezza, originale ma quasi fittizia, che subito lascia spazio alla necessaria e quasi obbligata mescolanza degli elementi presenti. Le tre entità, vestite anch’esse di stracci, assumono diverse connotazioni: dapprima quasi divine, manovrano con delicatezza la creazione del mondo ma, successivamente, emerge una dimensione ludica, lussuriosa e incurante, che fa pensare ai potenti del mondo che senza scrupoli generano distruzione.

The process leading to the defilement of an immaculate tablecloth lies at the center of this video performance: the rag is the residue. The starting point is an original yet almost fictitious purity, which quickly gives way to the necessary and nearly inevitable mingling of elements. The three entities, themselves clothed in rags, take on different connotations: at first almost divine, delicately orchestrating the creation of the world; later, however, a playful, lustful, and careless dimension emerges, evoking the powerful figures of the world who, without scruple, generate destruction.
